Treatment at Atlas Chiropractic
We look forward to meeting with you and helping you get back on the road to better health. Is it your first time at a chiropractic office? Are you scared or unsure about the procedures? Troubled by a negative experience with a past chiropractor? Don’t worry -- we understand. Let’s take a moment to go over your questions:
What can I expect in my initial visit?
First, if you’ve already filled out the intake form on this site, you can skip a lot of the paperwork that accompanies any initial medical appointment and just walk right in.
Dr. Roland will quickly put you at ease and give you a thorough assessment, including an alignment check, a conversation with you about your current or past health issues, and (if necessary) X-rays to pinpoint alignment problems. He will then work out a complete care plan including chiropractic sessions along with diet, exercise, and general wellness strategies to keep you healthy.
Does it hurt?
Relax. Chiropractic has changed a lot over the years -- in addition to the older style of manual adjustment, we now have a host of gentle, low-pressure techniques that work wonders. Dr. Roland’s expertise includes 15 different techniques to ensure that you get the most gain with the least pain. Our goal is to make you feel good!
Will my insurance cover it?
Most major insurance plans today offer chiropractic coverage. We recommend you check with your provider.
But so many people choose surgery for my condition…
Yes, and many of them end up regretting it. While in some extreme cases surgery may be necessary, keep in mind that for better or worse, it’s usually permanent. A large percentage of back surgery patients report continued or even worsened pain after undergoing the procedure. Chiropractic is a flexible, dynamic treatment -- it simply realigns the bones so your body can use its own incredible ability to heal itself. The risk is lower, the expense is lower, and the procedure is completely non-invasive.
If you've already had back surgery, chiropractic can still help. A combination of adjustments and good wellness practices can reduce the potential need for additional surgeries.
Can I receive chiropractic treatment if I'm pregnant?
Absolutely -- in fact, pregnancy is a great time to let chiropractic relieve the back pain and other discomforts of pregnancy. Gentle adjustments can make your pregnancy and delivery easier, and the improved nerve function is good for both you and your baby.
Can kids benefit from chiropractic?
Absolutely! Patients of any age, from infancy to old age, can enjoy better health through proper physical alignment. Dr. Roland has worked with babies just a few weeks old to correct health problems caused by birth trauma. (Almost all of us suffer some degree of physical trauma at birth, and when undiagnosed this trauma can lead to future health troubles.) Whatever your age, whatever your physical condition, Dr. Roland will develop a customized plan to help you optimize your health.
Why do I have to have more than one session?
Unless you've suffered a sudden accident or other trauma, your alignment issues almost certainly didn’t occur overnight, and they probably won’t be fixed overnight. It may take a series of sessions to gently and effectively realign your body so it can begin the self-healing process.
Also, preventative maintenance is the best way to preserve your good health once you’ve attained it. You wouldn’t go to a dentist once and then assume your teeth will be in great shape for the rest of your life. Just as you make regular dental appointments to prevent serious troubles later on, regular chiropractic treatments can help you avoid a world of pain in the future -- not to mention the expense of major corrective treatment (including surgery if the problem has advanced that far) and lost wages from physical disability. Keep your body and your wallet healthy with regular check-ups!
